Molecular biology is an information science. The amount of data already present in different databases spread all over the world is overwhelming. Accessing and relating these data are the core of the biologist's modern paradigm.

Knowledge and handling of database systems allows BioXpr to propose its expertise in designing, building and maintaining strong and evolutive custom databases.

As the challenge of genome discovery shifts from the generation of new sequence data to the identification and understanding of gene products and their functions, efficient data interpretation and integration of diverse public and proprietary databases become critical tasks.
BioXpr offers services and consulting in pattern searches, multiple sequence alignments, secondary structure predictions, ORF predictions,…using the most appropriate techniques.

To know the structure of a protein is useful for the design and optimization of many pharmaceutical products. BioXpr has developed its expertise around the comparative modeling of proteins, achieving high rankings in international CASP4, CAFASP3 and EVA evaluations. Our methods benefit from the increased alignment performances of a new alignment strategy using neural networks. Alignments are obtained by combining, weighting and screening the results of several multiple alignment programs to provide high-throughput generation of high-quality protein models.

Alternatively, our scientists have developed a wide expertise of manual modeling using state-of-the-art softwares.
