Software development

BioXpr’s global experience in programming and algorithmics can be used to design any software and tools to answer any Life Science queries. BioXpr can for instance modellised any type of detection signals (bio-luminescence, PCR, mass spectrometry,...) and related response-curve to develop embedded software for Life Science instrumentation. The embedded software solution developed in these instances add accuracy, robustness and speed to the analysis performed by the instruments concerned. Our scientific team masters the different language industry standards such as C, C++, Java for any types of software development. Case study:Challenge: A leading worldwide company delivering cutting edge tools, technologies and application solutions to the Life Science industries intented to design, produce and market an easy to use and rapid bioluminescence-based instrument to detect bacterial and yeast contamination in agro-food liquids such as fruit juce, soups, water. Until then the detection techniques used to last from a few hours to a few days (Petri-dish detection). The software solution to be provided by Bioxpr had to comply with the highest industry standards for software developments such as GAMP4.Analysis and Solution: BioXpr analysed the bioluminescence detection curves and signals generated from respiration (ATP) of the micro-organisms. BioXpr interpreted the signals to distinguish between the background noise and real contamination. BioXpr modelled the signals via purposefully- developed algorithms. Results: Thanks to a timely respect of its job’s description BioXpr has successfully contributed to the launched of the instrument early 2008. The detection sensitivity level is lowered to one bacteria or yeast and the detection time is decreased from hours, days to a few minutes. The instrument deliver a simple answer to the contamination test: YES/NO.(link to a PDF detailing the Case Study)
